Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Owner Of Cell Pet Salon In Hillsborough
James Taylor expressed his deep concern about the traumatizing experience that JUJU (his five-pound dog) went through at the weekend. Taylor said that after Jujur was bitten by a dog, the groomer taped his mouth shut. The result? A bloody, distressed dog.
Taylor recalled, "My dog clearly was in distress. What I thought was a muff turned out to just be tape. Jujur was clearly injured and his paws were red. His toenails, cut too closely to the paws likely caused him to bite.
Puppy Lux is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.
James immediately took Juju to the veterinarian for urgent medical attention. Having joined numerous other accusers of animal abuse, James accused Puppy-Lux. San Mateo initiated an investigation for possible animal abuse.
James described the injuries he observed, stating, "I noticed wounds near the joints, around the neck, and in the genital area. These cuts were so bad that they bled."
Jack Smithr, customer of Puppy Lux posted a Yelp review detailing the way his pets were returned unwell or injured. Another customer took a Snapchat of a dog appearing to be in pain. They claimed that a groomer inserted an ear napkin by force.
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Puppy Lux wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. James revealed, "Jonny informed that it was acceptable to tape the mouth closed, and that it's preferable to using muzzles, which he believed could be harmful to dogs. He said that he uses the method himself on animal abuse ethics his dogs.
Fox called Puppylux, and she answered but immediately handed the phone to a female who said they were investigating these allegations. When asked about Puppy, she immediately said that it was an independent entity, before abruptly terminating the call.
